Lovely beach town with good restaurants. la Piazzaetta is a favorite of the locals who entertained us on open-mike night. Antica Trattoria a Taverna is a long walk uphill to the old town. We had half liter of vino bianco locale with the shared special antipasti served with bread which was very filling. The pasta dishes that followed were delicious but we should have shared that too. Best not to visit Scalea in July or August when it is very crowded. We visited in mid-September and had a very nice time.

Scalea is a warm and friendly town. The restaurants are abundant and serve outstanding Calabrian cuisine. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world. If you are traveling with a young family, there is much to do...not to mention how safe Scalea feels.

The historic district is like stepping back in time - ancient homes and pathways...and lots of stairs to climb. Not for those with difficulty walking. The downtown area and beaches offer plenty of places to stop for a cappuccino and something sweet, a quick pizza or a delicious extended meal.

Lovely old town.
Lovely old town. The old historical part of the town offers a lot more character & charm than the beach front boardwalk (which was often dirty and rubbish not collected). Definitely worth walking up to the old Castle for the view. Great restaurants in the old town Il Tari and La Rondinella.KimNew Zealand

The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook. The towels and bed sheets smelled amazing and the aircon was a welcome treat. The wi-fi was super fast and we had no issues with connecting. The host was very quick to get back to me and the lady that met us with the keys was super friendly. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a spacious, comfortable and very well located place to stay in Scalea!

Very clean and comfortable with everything you would need. The value was really great! Easy to find with private parking and close to the center of town, but enough away that it felt calm and peaceful in a nice neighborhood. Steffania is so sweet and really kind! She let us check in much earlier and was easy to communicate with and very responsive and warm. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Scalea!! Thank you Steffania!!

They met us and gave us the keys and made sure all was in working order in the house. Three comfortable bedrooms and one bathroom. Home is equipped with all you will need for a comfortable stay including a washing machine. Nice, countryside setting with easy access (driving) to Scalea and the surrounding areas mountain villages. Quiet area and a place to park your car securely as there is a gate around the property. Very good wifi. Nice stay overall.

The location is in a quiet street and parking in front of the building is free and easy at all times. the host welcomed us and check in was very nice and friendly. She cold speak English very well! The location is good as you are central and it takes only a few minutes to the beach. There are grocery markets and a small mall nearby.
